Apple TV+ shows nominated for 9 Royal Television Society awards

Apple TV+ has secured nine nominations for the UK Royal Television Society’s 2022 Craft and Design Awards. “Slow Horses” and “Bad Sisters” lead the nominations. (Both are great shows and you really should watch them if you haven’t already, IMHO.)

The RTS Craft and Design Awards are sponsored by Apple TV+, which was also nominated for nine awards in eight categories.

“This year has been another extraordinary year for the industry where we have celebrated and commemorated many key moments together,” said awards chairman Ade Rawcliffe in an announcement. “The RTS Craft & Design nominations rightly highlight the exceptional talent, range of voices and skills we have in the UK content production industry, and with the introduction of the new Production Management category, for which we received fantastic submissions, we are further extending the reach and recognition that these awards provide.

“Slow Horses” and “Bad Sisters” compete in the Music – Original Title category. “Slow Horses,” made by See Saw Films for Apple TV+, features a main theme from Mick Jagger and the series’ music composer Daniel Pemberton.

“Bad Sisters”, the Merman and ABC Signature production for Apple, has its main theme by Tim Phillips & PJ Harvey. They are also nominated for Music – Original Music, for the same series.

See Saw Films is also up for two additional categories for its Apple TV+ production of “The Essex Serpent.” He competes in the Design – Titles and Production Management Awards.

The comedy “Trying” is up for Sound – Entertainment & Non-Drama. While “Prehistoric Planet”, from BBC Studios for Apple, is in place for production design – Entertainment and not drama, plus effects.

The RTS Craft and Design Awards ceremony will be held in London on December 5, 2022.

‘Slow Horses’ and ‘Bad Sisters’ both return for second seasons on Apple TV+
