Young Leaders Institute

The Young Leaders Institute (YLI) is a week-long summer program for high school students that promotes global competence, elevates leadership skills, and connects students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Since its launch in 2016, YLI has provided new perspectives and strengthened the skills of nearly 400 students.

Summer 2022 returns to in-person sessions at the Asia Society Texas Center, focusing on timely and relevant questions for students to explore. During the institute, participants will work in teams throughout the week to research, debate and present solutions to the challenges facing our world. With mentorship and guidance from Asia Society staff, students will have the opportunity to develop deeper knowledge of global issues; to hone communication, collaboration and presentation skills for the future; and to engage respectfully and thoughtfully with experts, staff and peers to transform their understanding of leadership.
