Hyderabad Runners Society Unveil NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2022 Finishers Medal

New Delhi [India], August 26 (ANI/GPRC): Hyderabad Runners Society and NMDC with the government. of Telangana has announced that the 11th Annual NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2022 powered by IDFC FIRST Bank, will have over 16,000 registered participants. With hundreds of away participants coming to run in this prestigious city marathon, the annual sporting extravaganza is gaining massive appeal among serious and amateur runners across India and abroad. Hyderabad Runners Society, the organizer of the event, aims to promote running as the preferred form of physical activity for an active lifestyle.
The finishers medal was unveiled by CV Anand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, City of Hyderabad, Stephen Raveendra, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.
Sumit Deb, Chairman and CEO of NMDC Ltd, Nikhat Zareen, Indian Amateur Boxer, Naarayan TV, Marketing Director, IDFC FIRST Bank and other sponsors graced the occasion.
Races will be posted as follows: Full Marathon at 5:00am, Half Marathon at 6:00am (from People Plaza, Necklace Road) and 10K Run at 7:00am from Hitex, Madhapur.
As one of the most popular and top rated marathons in India, returns for the 11th year, over 16,000 runners, health and fitness enthusiasts, volunteers, medical staff, city officials and police officers will come together and energize this extravagant sports marathon from Sunday to August. February 28, 2022, the date on which the 10 km, half-marathon (21.095 km) and full marathon (42.195 km) races will take place. The marathon route will cross the prominent landmarks of the city, providing runners with picturesque views of Hussain Sagar Lake, Raj Bhavan Road, KBR Park, Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 and Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, Bio-diversity Junction and ends at Gachibowli. Stadium, while spreading the theme of healthy lifestyle among the people of Hyderabad. The 10K race will start from Hitex Grounds and merge with the half marathon and full marathon course near IKEA Circle and finish at Gachibowli Stadium.
Speaking on the occasion, Prashant Morparia, Race Director – NMDC Hyderabad Marathon said, “We are extremely excited to announce the 11th edition of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon powered by IDFC FIRST Bank which will see some additional features this year. We thank the Government of Telangana, our sponsors and partners for their continued patronage and support for the greatest annual sporting event in Hyderabad.In this 11th edition of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, which has an IAAF/AIIMS certified course, our aim is before all to increase runners’ safety and offering world class running facilities. Covid safety protocols will be followed by volunteers as well as the organizing team throughout the running of the marathon. We encourage the citizens of Hyderabad to come support and encourage the runners and to be part of this huge city event.”

The commitment will be fulfilled as part of IDFC FIRST Bank’s “FIRST Impact” corporate social responsibility program. The Bank will disburse funds on behalf of participants to Bank-supported NGOs. An interesting aspect of the Pledge is that it allows qualified participants to choose a cause close to their hearts. Social good is one of the founding pillars of IDFC FIRST Bank and is manifested through the Bank’s various social responsibility programs, but it is also deeply rooted in the way it does business. The Bank’s corporate social responsibility program focuses on five areas: education, livelihoods, women’s empowerment, health, and financial inclusion. Hyderabad Runners is keen to encourage maximum citizen participation and make the marathon a fun event with lots of entertainment and music groups. Cheer zones are set up along the marathon route for spectators to watch and cheer on the runners and encourage citizens to join in the biggest community event in the city of Hyderabad. The total prize money for the 11th edition is Rs.22 lakhs for winners in the Elite Runners category across all races and around Rs 2 lakhs for winners in the non-Elite category.
