Lake County Genealogical Society to learn more about Family History Guide – News-Herald

The next meeting of the Lake County Genealogical Society will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, April 28, via Zoom.

There will be a short business meeting followed by speaker, Bob Taylor, whose topic “Introduction to the Family History Guide” will provide an overview of the Family History Guide website, a free premier resource for learning and do genealogy.

Many of the site’s unique features will be covered, such as country pages and the learning system, with a brief Q&A session at the end, according to a press release.

Taylor has been active in family history for more than 25 years. He combined his passion for genealogy with his experience in instructional design to produce a cutting-edge family history learning resource – The Family History Guide.

He has worked for major technology companies such as Novell, Intel and Western Digital. At Intel University, he redesigned key training courses for employees and managers around the world, as well as teaching management courses in many states, the statement said. He has authored numerous online and written learning systems, helping others accelerate technology and family history learning.
