Reduction of adoption fees at the Bangor Humane Society this week

Saturday was National Make a Dog’s Day. Of course, every day is National Make a Dogs Day.

And every day, dogs make people’s day. You know how to say “Who saved who”.

To help celebrate today’s start, the Bangor Humane Society will be offering reduced adoption fees as part of a week-long effort to find homes for as many animals as possible.

Also as part of the ASPCA’s annual adoption event, Quirk Subaru asks the community to help “fill the forester” at the Bangor Humane Society at 693 Mount Hope Avenue or the Quirk Dealership at 295 Hogan Rd to Bangor Everyone has a forester to fill.

Donors are encouraged to bring supplies such as new or used towels, blankets, linens, pet food, toys, treats, and cleaning supplies to either location for shelter use.

Promoting animal adoption is something Subaru and the quirky dealer family are very committed to and have supported for many years.

Said Jim Quirk

It’s teamwork and the pets are the real winners. It’s a good feeling

Prospective adopters should know that only pets that meet ASPCA Take Me Home requirements today will receive a discount this week. All normal adoption policies will apply

Kathryn Ravenscraft, Director of Development and Communications at the Bangor Humane Society added:

The public is encouraged to visit the shelters website, at bangorhumane.org to view adoptable animals or contact by email – adoption@bangorhumane.org

The Bangor Humane Society has served more than 200 communities in northern and eastern Maine since 1869.
