The Bach Society of Saint Louis announces the 2022-23 season

The Bach Society of Saint Louis has announced its 2022-23 season.

“This season is especially exciting for me because of all the variety it contains. From the intimate to the majestic, each program is carefully crafted to speak to the spirit and the spirit,” said the musical director and conductor A. Dennis Sparger in an official press release “From Bach and Handel to the music of our time, we explore the sounds of a wide variety of composers and styles.”

Kicking off the company’s 82nd season will be “A Journey of Voices” at Webster University’s Community Music School. The concert will include music by Carlos Guastavino, Fauré, Miskinis, Dawson and Bach, among others.

Performance date: October 9, 2022

Next up is a free community concert in partnership with St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in O’Fallon, IL.

Performance date: October 23, 2022

“Christmas Candlelight Concert” will feature soloist Sherezade Panthaki. It will take place at Powell Symphony Hall.

Performance date: December 9, 2022

Handel’s “Messiah” kicks off 2023. The show, which will take place at First Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood, will feature soprano Michele Kennedy, mezzo-soprano Kim Leeds, tenor Don Frazure and the baritone David Rugger.

Performance date: March 5, 2023

The season ends with “St. Matthew Passion. Soloists include Steven Soph, Stephen Morscheck, soprano Josefien Stoppelenburg, mezzo-soprano Meg Bragle, tenor Dann Coakwell and baritone Alexander Dobson.
