The Leicestershire Law Society held its first in-person awards night in over two years on Friday May 20, 2022, hosted by its chairman and Nelsons medical negligence lawyer, Matthew Olner.
The event took place at the fabulous Grade II listed venue, Athena, in the heart of Leicester’s cultural quarter.
Guests were welcomed to the 1950s-themed evening, with an aperitif, entertainment by the Blue’s Irregulars and Cristina Ruiz from the University of Leicester singing a rendition of Hallelujah, and charity casino tables and photo ops , while networking and building new relationships.
The President thanked all the patrons, business partners, sponsors, volunteers of the society, as well as the director of the society and organizer of the event, Kauser Patel.
Chairman Matthew Olner said, “We also thank the management and staff of Athena for their support and hospitality.
“Thank you also to our Awards Jury who each year has the difficult task of reviewing, judging and deciding the winners.
“There was a great turnout with over 400 guests from the local legal and business community, including our High Sheriff and distinguished judges. The evening celebrated legal excellence in Leicestershire.
“There was also delicious food, live music, singing and extra entertainment with casino tables and games to raise money for my charity for the year Leicester Children’s Holidays.
“Congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted and congratulations to our worthy winners.”
